A different Perspective!

It was just another Monday  for office-goers but not for Mia. It was the D-day Mia dreaded . She was to leave her first job-her first love for the usual "better prospects" .

 Mia looked sulkily at the dress she wore to her last working day to office and she smiled miserably.She reached her office and sat at her desk and looked around aimlessly . She no longer felt related to the place nor the people there.

 Somewhere deep insider her, she had started to digest the words of her mentor and started to look at 'life from a different perspective'.

At half past three with most of the relieving formalities complete Mia searched for her mentor - Jian.She reached his desk and cleared her throat to speak when Jian said " Missy , could you check if any of the meeting room's free. We gotta talk!"

Mia checked every meeting room and returned with a smirk indicating that none were free . Jian walked and she followed her mentor to the nearby coffee-break area.

Mia knew that this was the talk Jian had promised to have with her on the last day of her work - a talk about men, women and more. She was too eager to hear his words as she considered him to be always clear in his thoughts and a man who commanded her respect among all others.

"Missy. Dont expect anything from anyone. Learn that and you would have crossed half your problems. Its when you start expecting someone to do things for you that you hurt yourself. 

Everyone is gonna hurt you someday or the other , its your choice who you let in your life- to hurt you. "

Mia listened attentively and was wondering if her mind could register every measured word of her mentors or if she would forget them .

She was pondering whether she should write it down when Jian continued "Next ....never muddle up the love of a man and that of a woman! They are never the same!

"Err... Well .. I don't understand.." she said with a muddled look in her face.

"Women seek company while men seek companionship. So never try to mix both .Women are complex of the sexes - they mature faster, they respond quickly and everything about them is fast but men aren't so. They are slow. They take their own time to realize things and also prefer to be that way. Not demeaning men or women but that's the way life is. Its better you try to appreciate that in a man rather than trying to change him completely "

Mia squealed in between , "Why can't men be like women. It would be much easier if men liked pink color or cried like women or went shopping like women do!"

Jian replied patiently ,"Then you would miss the balance that nature has created. And you would have nothing to complain about - see the logic ?

Mia looked muddled at her mentor and he continued " Ah.. its dumb that I expected you to understand. Anyhow , just try to remember these , will you ?

Mia nodded in agreement and he continued "Men prefer to be understood than to be loved and women prefer to be loved than to be understood. Its lethal for a man to try to understand a woman".

Just as she was about to question her mentor, Jian was called upon by someone and he left a ever-pondering Mia behind.
